I never knew Dogs Scouts of America existed!
I had a wonderful German Shepherd, Cole, that would have loved this organization. Just like the name implies, Dog Scout is set up to mirror the Boy Scouts or Girls Scouts model. They offer merit badges, camps, local troops etc to educate people about responsible dog ownership, the important role of the human/canine bond and to challenge people and dogs to learn how to better serve each other. The best part is they have programs for all ages – young and old. What a great way to meet people who enjoy their dog as much as you do!
I visited their website, http://www.dogscouts.org/, and was extremely surprised that there is a local troop in Jacksonville, FL were I live. Jacksonville Dog Scouts
